Instructions: Transpositions and inversions of the row are read, as expected, left to right, and top to bottom, respectively. Unless you are pasting in your data to the form, '10' can be entered as 'T' or 't', and '11' can be E or e. Any other input will not generate meaningful data. If you are able to hang the program, email me the input so I can fix. If you don't get expected results, check your input carefully. Failing that, send me your input so I can fix. For example, the default matrix shown above, taken from Schoenberg's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 36, can be generated by entering: 9, 10, 3, 11, 4, 6, 0, 1, 7, 8, 2, 5 OR 9, T, 3, E, 4, 6, 0, 1, 7, 8, 2, 5 You can also enter less than twelve pcs if you want to see some of a pc-set's transpositions and inversions. A 12x12 matrix will still be generated, but meaningful data will collect towards the top left quadrant. Try and you'll see what I mean. Alternately, the Tn/TnI Tool will generate all transpositions and inversions of an ordered set. |
