General Information

To book an ensemble or request an estimate of fees, please send an email providing the following information:

  1. Your name, and organization (if applicable)
  2. Contact information including mailing address, phone number
  3. Venue ~ please advise if the performance will be outside
  4. Venue address
  5. Date of the engagement
  6. Start time of the engagement
  7. End time of the engagement
  8. Event details: wedding ceremony, wedding ceremony & reception, reception, or other event
  9. Approximate number of guests
  10. A brief description of what you are expecting (formal/informal, background music or a live show etc.)

I will contact you as soon as I can with availability, and any suggestions or questions that I might have. Note that availablility can change quickly, especially during the busy wedding season (May-Sept). Please see Holding Dates below if you would like me to hold a date for you.

Policies

All musicians are members of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM)
For the protection of both the musicians and the engagers:

  • all engagements within the jurisdiction of The Vancouver Musician's Association AFM Local 145 (VMA-AFM) are without exception  filed under contract with the VMA-AFM
  • engagers are encouraged to make all payments through the VMA-AFM
  • for private individuals, two items are required to secure an engagement:
    • a written VMA-AFM agreement
    • payment at time of booking - post dated cheques are accepted for bookings made several months in advance
  • except for last-minute bookings and fees for holding dates, payments are held in trust by the VMA-AFM until after the engagement.

Cancellations

  • 30 days or more notice:  100% refund
  • 15-29 days notice:  50% refund
  • less than 15 days notice:  no refund

Fees

Fees can vary greatly depending on the ensemble requested, performance time, and the performance situation. If you are looking for background music to accompany meals or for receptions, fees can be affected by special musical requests, travel outside of Vancouver, overtime, and location changes. All fees are commensurate with the most recent VMA-AFM local 145 tariff of fees.

All estimates are non binding.

Holding Dates

If you would like us to hold a date for you while you make a decision, we can do so for up to 14 days for events more than six weeks away at a non-refundable fee of $25.00 in Canadian Funds. The $25.00 will be applied to your total fee if you decide to book with us. Please send an email forwarding all relevant details with your request. Your payment can be made with any major credit card through PayPal.

Last Minute Bookings

We will try to accomodate last-minute bookings (less than 4 weeks notice). Payment must be made in full, and can be done via any major credit card through PayPal. Please send an email forwarding all relevant details with your request.

Privacy Statement

We do not tolerate spam and will never sell, rent, or lease your details (name, address, email etc...) to any third party. Neither will you be sent unsolicited e-mail.
